Art and Fiction Competitions

At the Sci-Fi Ball we like to nurture talent, which is why we provide the opportunity for all our attendees to flex their creative muscles in the name of competitive fun. The Art Competition invites attendees to show their flair by producing a piece of creative work inspired by the world of sci-fi and cult TV; entries can be in any media or construction e.g. pencil drawing, paintings and models.

For the more literary minded amongst you, there is the fiction and poetry competition. Get out your dictionaries and thesauri and take this opportunity to showcase your linguistic talents. You could decide to pen an intriguing short-story or release your inner poet to test your use of iambic pentameter and create a poetic masterpiece. Entries should be based on the world of Sci-Fi/Fantasy and be no longer than 6,000 words.

The only limitation is your imagination.

Entries will be judged during the weekend and the results will be announced at the closing ceremony on Sunday where the winners will be awarded a certificate, presented by one of our special guests and a prize.

All competition entries should be marked clearly with your name and badge number and handed into Registration as soon as possible after you arrive. Work can be retrieved on Sunday afternoon from Registration.

SF Ball Ltd accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged entries.
